The wonderful people at Phelps Creek Vineyards gave me a bottle of the amazing Cuvée Alexandrine Pinot Noir to try. I personally love Oregon Pinot Noirs and had heard great things about this wine. I saved it for a special occasion and when the time came I excitedly opened it to share with my husband. I knew it was going to be good but I was still surprised by it. It was sparkly and playful, a big wine but not at all stuffy. It had a big oak background and I could taste rich cherry and tart currant flavors. I enjoyed every sip. This pinot was definitely a treat.
The Phelps Creek tasting room is one of my favorite spots to visit in Hood River. It's perfect as fall settles in because it's cozy and inviting. Go taste and stock up on wonderful wines for the winter.
